Initial Consultation

We begin with an initial consultation, during which we are available to provide answers to any questions that you may have about our services or psychological services in general.  Additionally, information collected during the initial meeting enables us to begin to understand the reason for referral, formulate hypotheses and need for assessment (if any), explore treatment options, and develop a plan for measuring treatment progress.

We are here to help, contact us for your initial consultation today!

Individual Counseling

Often, treatment begins with individual counseling.  To maximize progress, counseling may be supported with parent training and consultation with school systems as appropriate.
  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
  • Play Therapy
  • Behavior Modification
  • Concurrent Parent Training
  • Consultation with Schools

This supportive and interactive process often leads to gained insight, symptom reduction, and behavioral change.

Group Counseling

This service is often used to address pervasive developmental difficulties, anger management, and impulse control.

  • Social Skills Training
  • Social Perspective Taking
  • Emotional/Behavioral Management
  • Video Modeling
  • Concurrent Group Parent Sessions

Less expensive than individual counseling, group offers many benefits for building and maintaining new skills.  A very powerful treatment technique!

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)

An engaging, active and effective model of therapy, EAP combines the services of trained equine specialists and mental health professionals, who facilitate powerful and meaningful interactions between youth and horses.  Experiences with horses provide real opportunities for mirroring life, which helps the client to quickly see the problems and find solutions that work for them.  Using the EAGALA model of EAP, we are able to provide powerful opportunities to get to the heart of the issues and lead to healthier communication, enhanced coping skills and happier relationships.  Whether treating trauma, emotional concerns, social and behavioral disorders, or difficulties associated with pervasive developmental disorders, EAP can help find meaningful, lasting solutions.

Parent Training

There are many variables within a system which can affect the behavioral change of an individual.  Not to be confused with family therapy, parent training is designed to offer suggestions and teach the necessary skills to promote positive behavioral change in the child or adolescent.  Training is often provided while the client is in session for NO EXTRA CHARGE.  We understand that your time is valuable, and aim to maximize your visit to our office.  Benefits of concurrent parent training often include reduced stress and conflict amongst family members, development of new skills and effective methods of problem solving, and relief and reconnection within the family.
